Finnish Pine: Pinus Pinea

 

 Finnish Pine originated in Europe from Portugal and Scotland in the west to Russia, Japan and the Philippines in the east. There are also pine trees that grow in the Himalayas and Southeast Asia.

The bark of most pines is thick and rough, with a relatively short lifespan: typically 100-150 years, but a rapid growth rate.

The roots of the pine consist of fungi, which supply water and nutrients to the roots, including as phosphorus and iron.

Finnish pine trees are used for the construction of pergolas, parquet and furniture.
